Recording and Privacy

Scope

This section explains how we record, store, and use audio, video, screen shares, images, and chat during live online sessions.

Consent to recording
• By enrolling and attending live sessions, you consent to the recording of teaching segments.
• Breakout rooms are not recorded.
• We record the facilitator’s view only. No gallery view.
• If you unmute or speak during a recorded teaching segment, your voice may be captured.

Your controls
• You may keep your camera off at any time.
• You may use a preferred first name or a pseudonym.
• You may use a neutral or blurred background.
• You may join by audio only and stay muted unless speaking.

How we use recordings
• To provide replays to enrolled members who missed a session.
• To deliver future evergreen or cohort versions of the same or similar program.
• We do not use your name, image, or voice for public marketing without your separate written permission.

Access and distribution
• Recordings are streaming only behind a member login.
• We disable participant downloads, local recordings, and chat export.
• We may share recordings with service providers who support our platform under written contracts and confidentiality duties.
• We do not sell recordings or participant data.

Confidentiality and community rule
• “What is shared here stays here.” Sharing private member content outside the program is not allowed.
• We remove participants who violate this rule.
• Confidentiality has limits. No online space can be risk-free. Screen capture and misuse by others are possible. We act fast on reports.

Data rights and legal bases
• If you are in California, the EEA, or the UK, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data.
• Contact: [support@lissarankin.com].
• Our legal bases include your consent and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the program.

Retention
• We keep recordings only as long as needed for program delivery, quality assurance, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
• Access ends when your membership ends or you unsubscribe.

Security
• We store recordings in systems with access controls and logging.
• We use third-party platforms such as [Zoom, Vimeo, or equivalent]. Their privacy policies apply in addition to ours.

Minors
• Our programs are for adults. Do not enroll a minor without written parental consent and our prior approval.

Prohibited conduct
• Do not record, download, screenshot, or share sessions or replays.
• Do not copy or repost chat or participant content outside the program.

Acknowledgment
• By joining a live session, you confirm you have read and accept this Recording and Privacy section.

Here is how we protect you now:

  • Confidentiality pledge at sign-up. “What’s shared here, stays here.” Violations lead to removal.
  • Teaching is recorded. Breakout rooms are not recorded.
  • We post only the facilitator’s view in recordings. No gallery view. No participant names.
  • Streaming only. No downloads. We disable chat export and participant recordings.
  • Limited access. Recordings live behind a login for enrolled members only. We review and remove any sensitive moments on request.
  • Retention policy. We remove participants who unsubscribe from the program

Extra steps you control:
Name and video controls. Use a preferred first name (fictitious if you want). Neutral background or blur.

What this means for you:

  • You can attend teaching segments with your camera turned off if you like.
  • You can be fully yourself with the camera on in a no-record breakout room.
  • You can change your name and use a pseudonym

Limits and promise
No online space can offer zero risk. Our job is to reduce risk and act fast if something feels off.

Access to Program Materials

Live Online Workshops and Evergreen Programs

If you purchase a one-time program (live or pre-recorded), you will have access to the content, including recordings, for a minimum of twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. To retain access beyond that period, we recommend downloading any materials or recordings to your own device before the access period ends.

Subscription-Based Programs
As long as your subscription remains active, you will have access to the relevant program materials, recordings and groups on the hosting platform. When your subscription ends or is canceled, access to the platform and its contents will be revoked. To retain any materials, you must download them to your own device before the end of your subscription term.

Platform Changes and Third-Party Services
We currently use Teachable to host course content but reserve the right to change platforms at any time. We are not responsible for the functionality, policies, or continued access provided by Teachable or any other third-party service.
